Who is Dr Jillian Ney?

I’m Dr Jillian Ney, a Digital Behavioural Scientist (and the UK’s first Dr of Social Media). For the past ten years, I’ve been helping marketers to stop working on hunches by analysing social data to find out how their customers make decisions and letting them know how to position marketing spend.

I collaborate with some of the world’s leading social listening tools. Including Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Linkfluence, Pulsar and Audiense.

I work with big companies like Manchester City Football Club, FTSE 100 banks and government organisations. I also work and advise on some really cool projects from space to pregnancy to fintech to eCommerce. In areas like content marketing, brand positioning, customer experience management and conversion rate optimisation.

There’s communities from everything from content marketing to conversion rate optimisation to social media marketing but nothing like this exists for social data analysis. So, I want to take all my knowledge and experience and build a community around the thing I love the most – analysing social data.

I don’t know of another community like it.

There’s a lot of nonsense floating around about social listening, social analytics, and social intelligence, and it can be difficult to see the wood for the trees.  Even the best of us can fall for this BS.

We also need to be called out on our own BS to help us grow and develop and not just continue with the status quo.  

You need to be around people that challenge your thinking.

You will come up against problems and challenges with social data analysis – it’s only natural, it’s a new area of research and there isn’t a lot of information available.  We all need help from time to time.

Not as much as you might think. It costs private clients between $1500-$2500 a day to work with me. My workshops can cost up to $10,000 for a two-day mastermind session.

Who should join?

Anyone who regularly works with social data or anyone thinking about working with social data.  You might work with social listening, social analytics or even in social intelligence.

You could be a total newbie or you could be a seasoned pro, I’ve made sure that there is something for all levels.  And, you get to network with your peers!

Why is the Community Invite Only?

As you can imagine, there has been a lot of interest in the community.  To help me and my team make sure that everyone gets the best experience we are currently operating on an invite only basis where doors will open for 48 hours each month for new members.

I’m committed to making sure that the community is spam free and that there are not a lot of sleazy sales pitches in there, this means that I need to have a level of control over the sign-up process.  I speak to everyone before they become a member.

What’s the Cost?

I’m currently offering a years membership to the community for $499.

The price will increase in 2018 due to increased costs to manage the platforms and create amazing content consistently but I am committed to making sure the community remains at a price point accessible to everyone.

If you request your invite before 1 February 2018, I’ll lock in your annual price to $499 (plus VAT) for life – even when the price goes up.

At this stage, no.  You see, learning how to analyse social data doesn’t happen in a month.  I only want to work with people who are committed to being successful.

How Long is the Contract?

As I only offer an annual payment, the contract length is for 1 calendar year.

How much time should I dedicate?

Simply, you get out what you put in. If you’re in the community multiple times a week you will get out more than someone who occasionally dips in and out. Having said that, the resources I training that I provide will give you the leg up you need but I find that most success comes from support in the forum.

I Work for a Social Tool, Can I Join?

Yes, social tools will be a central part of the community.  However, you need to contact me directly on to discuss membership – it works slightly differently.

How are Payments Processed?

All payments are processed online using Paypal.  It’s completely secure and you will receive a VAT / Tax invoice every year you are a member.
